Troubleshooting

Machine not configured

This section presents situations where the machine requires technical intervention.

Warning: ⚠️ Important: These situations require the intervention of an authorized Kiosk'Ice technician.

Error: Scenario JSON for "scenario-machine-non-configuree" not found at /home/stersin/Projects/ladd-kioskice/ladd-kioskice-doc/var/data/scenarios/scenario-machine-non-configuree-en.json.

Note: 📞 Technical Support: The machine cannot operate without prior configuration by an authorized technician.

Events and Faults

This section presents the various faults and events that the Kiosk'Ice machine may encounter, as well as the diagnostic and resolution procedures.

Mechanical Failures

Trap blocked error

The causes of this defect are multiple:

• The hatch did not release the closed hatch sensor upon an open request • The hatch did not reach the open hatch sensor upon an open request • The hatch did not release the open hatch sensor upon a close request

Warning: Procedure: Check the proper functioning of the open and closed hatch presence sensors, as well as the proper functioning of the hatch actuator.

Stirring motor fault – blocked

The agitator motor positioning sensor did not change state (0 to 1, or 1 to 0) during operation.

Warning: Procedure: Check the proper functioning of the motor positioning sensor, as well as the proper functioning of the mixing motor.

Electrical faults

Agitator motor disconnection fault

The circuit breaker protecting the agitation motor has tripped.

Warning: Procedure: Reset the circuit breaker and, if the problem persists, call customer service.

Scotsman circuit breaker fault

The circuit breaker protecting the ice production head has tripped.

Warning: Procedure: Reset the circuit breaker and, if the problem persists, call customer service.

Communication failures

Payment terminal error

This message appears in the following cases:

• Communication between the machine's automation system and the payment terminal is no longer established. • Communication between the payment terminal and the bank server is no longer established (internet).

Power failures

Water shutoff failure

Warning: Procedure: Check the machine's water supply.

Information messages

Kiosk'Ice unavailable

This message appears as soon as there is an anomaly and disappears automatically when all faults have been cleared.

Mixing in progress... Please wait...

This event indicates that the machine is performing a brewing cycle to prevent the ice cubes from clumping together.

Return during distribution hours

The machine is not available outside of programmed hours.

Ice level too low for dispensing

This message appears when there are not enough ice cubes to complete a full service.

Note: For any persistent defect after applying the procedures, contact Kiosk'Ice technical support.

Cleaning

This section describes the cleaning operations to be performed regularly to ensure the proper functioning of the machine.

Important areas

Areas to address: all areas in contact with ice cubes

Kiosk'Ice cleaning zones diagram
Areas to treat: all areas in contact with ice cubes

Cleaning the ice bin and ice dispensing components

These operations are performed with the machine stopped and the tank in the low position.

Prepare a "SCOTSMAN Cleaner" solution and apply it, using a sprayer, to the interior walls of the tank, the inside of the cups, the ice chute, and the upper part of the chamber on the door.

Allow the product to act, then rinse all components thoroughly with potable water. Proceed in the same manner with the disinfectant product, then dry the cleaned components using a clean cloth.

During the rinse cycle, check that the various seals are not leaking. Once the tank disinfection cleaning is complete, return the tank to the upper position.

Cleaning the KioskICE air filter

Warning: ⚠️ Frequency: This operation must be performed once a month.

To ensure the proper functioning of the Scotsman machine inside the dispenser, it is essential to clean the air filter.

Scotsman machine air filter maintenance
Air filter removal for cleaning

Procedure

1. Pull the air filter towards you through the front panel opening

2. Blow compressed air in the opposite direction of the condenser's airflow to remove accumulated dust

3. If you do not have compressed air, use tap water in the opposite direction of the condenser's airflow. Once cleaned, wring it out to remove remaining water, then dry it with a hairdryer.

Note: Note: If the air filter is damaged, we recommend replacing it.

Optical sensor check

Perform a check of the high-level optical sensor in the tank. This sensor is located in the tank and remains on the lid when the tank is in the low position. This operation is performed with the machine running and in production, towards the end of the demolding cycle, possibly at the very beginning of a freezing cycle, to avoid a double freezing cycle, i.e., by modifying the optical sensor for 1 minute.

This operation normally results in the shutdown of the ice production module and the illumination of a yellow indicator light. After removing the obstruction from the optical sensor, observe the restart of production with a new freezing cycle. Clean the optical sensor with a soft, clean cloth.
